Things have picked up substantially this month as we see FR8PK close to appointing a new Director to oversee Operations & Administration, adding to our ambitious and driven leadership team.
We’ve also narrowed our search for sites to build the FR8PK Neighbourhood by engaging with local leaders and landlords, ruling out some of the vacant spaces which aren’t ticking all the boxes.
As we approach a pinnacle stage in our development it’s only fair to remind ourselves about how we got to where we are right now. We’ve received masses of support for our concept in the initial stages, even when we proposed the project as a commercial venture it gained popularity with the public and national organisations alike. We’ve since incorporated as a social enterprise, a model which blends well with our mission and values, meaning any money made by FR8PK will be put back into making it bigger, better and more sustainable for its traders and the communities it serves.
To further express our goals and expand the network of organisations who share in our vision, we’ve become ambassadors of 4theRegion, an organisation on a mission to help make change happen across Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. The CIC connects individuals, businesses, community groups and changemakers who are doing great things in the region, who are thinking differently and solving problems. Becoming a member of 4theRegion was a no-brainer for us.
As we move into November we hope to be able to share with our supporters where the likely location(s) of FR8PK will be based, provide the first illustrations about how it will look and what to expect to see there.
